New ‘Track-and-Trace’ Rule Moving Ahead

NCPA represented independent community pharmacy interests at a recent FDA workshop on its proposed prescription drug tracking system. Manufacturers, wholesalers, and dispensers discussed implementation of a new “track-and-trace” supply chain security system required by law. FDA must issue a draft guidance document with initial standards for the exchange of drug transaction information and history by Nov. 27.
