A study paid for by the PBM/mail order lobby, Pharmaceutical Care Management Association, is under fire from community pharmacy groups. NCPA and NACDS pointed out in a letter to CMS that the study makes a number of questionable assumptions in its attribution of savings over the next decade to the increased use of preferred pharmacy networks. When given the choice, patients have voted with their feet and have shown that they prefer open pharmacy networks, NCPA and NACDS told CMS.
